Review of As Above, So Below (2014) by Josh L — 03 Dec 2014
I just watched this movie last midnight, and it turns out to be one of my favorite horror movies of this year; I like it even more than Anabelle. It succeeded in making me frel very creeped. And I think the background story was really smart because they put The Catacombs of Paris as the location, and I never even knew before that there are large catacombs of six million dead people lying below the Paris streets. My first reaction was "What? Really?".
Before I watched this, I never knew that Nicholas Flamel and The Philosopher's Stone were real. I thought it was just Harry Potter fiction. So for me, it pretty interesting. So I like the main idea of the story. And I highly commend that it tells us some of the long-forgotten histories. But somehow I dislike how they build the tension. It's pretty weird at the end of the movie though it's all great at half of the beginning. The plot is kinda in disorder, but it's acceptable. Much better than stories of ghosts or paranormal activity in a house. I'm pretty bored with stuff like that.
