Review of As Above, So Below (2014) by James M — 10 May 2016
There is an interesting premise here in taking some esoteric theories about human nature and the universe and using this as a backdrop against which to play out a supernatural, psychological thriller. The execution however accomplished little.
The shaky cam rather than adding a sense of verite was annoying and trite. The found footage/hand-cam has been played out a long time ago and detracts from the viewing experience. I really could not make out was going on more than half the time.
There are more engaging movies of this genre out there. I'd even rather watch the Blair Witch again.
