Review of As Above, So Below (2014) by Ryan C — 06 Aug 2017
With such a fascinating premise, "As Above, So Below" had so much potential, but ultimately it crumbles, just like the catacomb ceilings on its characters. With hardly any scares, the film finds itself more on a treasure hunt for the Philosopher's Stone taking the characters deeper and deeper into the Earth while they face their own fears.
More annoyingly, it is one of those "found footage films" that gets exhausting to follow. On a positive note, there are thrilling moments, but most impressively, they actually did film this in the French catacombs which I'm sure was no easy feat.
