Review of As Above, So Below (2014) by Axet — 12 May 2015
This trend of the handheld "found footage" sub genre has got to end! What was highly innovative and very influential starting with "The Blair Witch Project" has become a way for the studios to put out severely substandard fare and market and sell it as if it were on the level of real motion pictures as we've always known them, when in fact the product is not only not worth the price of admission but not even worthy of being in theaters at all.
This unwatchable junk has the worst camera work (intentional or not), dumb inexplicable story, and is cast with non-actors. That's not a real movie! Too bad, because the premise set in Paris was a good idea unfortunately totally wasted here by going so low budget.
This amateur crap can play on the festival circuit or internet but sure as hell cannot be passed off as actual cinema.
