Review of Arthur Christmas (2011) by James D — 28 Nov 2012
"Arthur Christmas" is definitely a change of pace and look for Santa Claus and his elves. The scenery and style is almost like a military Claus with a British accent. This movie was a good, family fun, feel good about yourself movie as most Christmas films are.
I jut don't know if I liked the way they celebrated Christmas and portrayed the whole holiday. I realize it's just a film, and it's supposed to different, I just don't think all Brit's see Christmas and the legendary Saint Nick like that.
Best part of the movie is the scene-stealing Grand-Santa, the guy is hilarious and stuck back in the 40's where delivering toys in the night wasn't just a job, it was a privilege. A spin on the tale of Christmas, I would say it is worth a rent for you holiday lovers.
3/5 JD.
