Review of Arthur Christmas (2011) by Andy P — 05 Dec 2013
It's tough to make a really great Christmas movie, but the Brits have managed to make the two of the three best ones of the last decade - Love Actually and Arthur Christmas. (Elf is number three.).
AC takes an age-old Santa mystery - how does he do it? - and builds around it a wonderfully clever and touching story about family politics, the changing world, and Christmas spirit. The animation is beautiful and the script is genuinely funny.
It's not surprising, considering that this came from the studio behind Wallace & Gromit. Arthur Christmas didn't make a big splash at the US box office, but it's worth going out of your way to find.
