Review of Arthur and the Invisibles (2006) by Bryanbezter — 26 Apr 2020

Great things about the movie:

1. The characters and world designs are beautiful.

2. The voice cast is actually interesting: Freddie Highmore, Madonna, Robert De Niro, Snoop Dogg, David Bowie, Harvey Keitel, Jason Bateman, and Jimmy Fallon.

Weaknesses of the movie:

1. The animations are terrible, as if they are not done completely and properly.

2. It is weird to watch a 10-year-old boy marries a 1000-year-old woman.

3. The story, characters, and animations are very children-friendly that adults will not find it enjoyable, but some dark scenes are too disgusting for children.

4. The mouth animation and voice are not synchronized.

5. The characters are extremely lucky and everything is ridiculously on time.

6. The voice echo from the dubbed characters are annoying and unnatural.

Debatable holes:

1. Did the Bogo Matassalai come to Arthur's house every 1000 days? Where did they come from?

2. Everything was just perfectly on-time: the day of the secret discovery matched the full moon; Arthur found Mino on time when the treasure is needed; etc.

3. Betameche's voice should have not been heard properly by Arthur from outside of the telescope.

4. Why would the kingdom send kids (the heir to the throne) for the mission? Why did they not get any guardians? A new person randomly became part of the integral mission.

5. How could Arthur perfectly throw the sword to save them from the river? How could the sword be strong enough to sustain their weights?

6. When they were inside the straws, they should have been visible from the outside. Betameche should also have been visible when he was trying to get into it.

7. How could the three be saved in the dark from the mosquitoes?

8. Why did all prisoners go to the same cage?

9. It was so convenient that all prisoners were sent free.

10. How did Arthur know that his toy was behind his grandfather when looking at the light?

11. How could the steer control the car? It was just a toy.
