So, I haven't seen the original film but I've got to say that the remake sure was fun to watch. There were times when it felt like Brand was unscripted and those times were hilarious. I thought it was an adorable love story and found myself "Ahhhing" out loud several times.
Despite being eccentric, Arthur felt like a real character, struggling to define himself and overcome his childhood. Who can't relate to that? All that and he had some pretty awesome toys, my personal favourite being The Mystery Machine.
