Review of Art School Confidential (2006) by Heidi V — 03 Nov 2007
For those of you who where left, wanting more after watching "Ghost World", you shud find this a perfect companion piece, even if it is slightly less surreal and doesn't have the lovely Thora Birch in it. Clowes and Zwigoff once again combining talents, with this adaptation of Clowes original graphic novel, with both Clowes and Zwigoff again on scripting duties, they have come up with a decent adaptation that stays faithful to the source material, while adding the same charm "Ghost World" had.
Art School also features some fantastic work from the supporting cast including the frequently underated Jim Broadbent, who shines as the bitter former student and definatly gives the most standout performance.
If you liked Ghost World or prefer your comedy more indie, its worth a look.
