Review of Art School Confidential (2006) by Victor M — 12 May 2008
The trailer seemed to be quite funny. I thought it would be a satirical representation of â??art school,â?? and because I go to one, I thought it would be amusing to watch and expected to laugh along with things I would understand.
It was awful. the plot was all over the place. it was a very cliche view of art school, totally not how I experience it and I think my peers would feel the same way. it just seemed to hype up the current stereotypes of what art students (and faculty members) are like, over-dramatizing our hunger to be â??the most amazing artist of the 21st centuryâ?? until it became unrecognizable. seriously, itâ??s not that bad.
And the surprise addition of it being a murder mystery was lame, but that was the only thing that kept me at my seat. I was just waiting to see the whodunnit part, but even that wasnâ??t spectacular. the ending was pathetic.
Maybe iâ??m being overly critical, but this is the worst movie iâ??ve seen since "ella enchanted.".
