Review of Art School Confidential (2006) by Patrick K — 08 Dec 2008
Art School Confidential holds up pretty well up until the final act. I feel this would've been a better movie without the whole whodunit murder mystery story turning into the focal point. That murder mystery itself could of been given a better reveal, but that's kind of besides the point in a movie that's supposed to be about art school.
I was hoping for sharper satire and more in-depth characterizations, but the final act and ending just magnifies the rest of the film's shortcomings, which up until then didn't get in the way of Art School Confidential being a mildly entertaining film.
