Yes the killer side plot is weak, yes the story doesn't go far, yes it's a bit cliche at times, and yes the romance is flat but Clowes and Zwigoff never fail at being funny and witty with the humour.
It satirizes art students perfectly and honestly. The cast is talented and their dialogue gut-bustingly hilarious. Overlooked.
