Review of Arrival (2016) by Maya S — 02 Mar 2017
Denise Villeneuve is becoming one of my favorite directors. His work is subdued and delicate and deep. I loved Sicario and I really loved Arrival. First, I respect directors who can make a movie entertaining to a larger audience and appealing to movie fans at the same time.
Arrival is one of those very rare movies. Acting, cinematography, music, sound and script are all truly amazing. But more importantly, this movie is not really an alien movie. It is more a philosophical investigation of a human struggle.
And by god it is beautifully done!
