Review of Arrival (2016) by Jin T — 02 Jul 2017
This was unexpectedly pretty good. I mean, I didn't expect anything out of this sci-fi drama but it was actually pretty good. Amy Adams is the star of this film and she has done remarkably well in this movie. Along with Jeremy Renner and Forest Whitaker, the movie's story somehow is progressively well. The first half of the movie would make you think it'll be just another typical sci-fi film but it's not. The connection between humans and the aliens reminded me the movie called The Abyss for some reason.
With the effort of Amy Adams' character by learning the language from the aliens and trying to understand them and especially the purpose, was quite touching. It even portrays how the rest of humanity deals with something they have never seen before. It shows like how China would go drastic measures without a real good reason but to retaliate. It's interesting how it shows humanity's reaction towards something unknown. Something out of this world. This movie gives a good example of humanity of interacting something alien, in global wide public.
Arrival has a touching story while attracting with the unknown that's out of this world. Giving us an example on how to deal with life itself and question about it at the same time. A good movie to get into if you want to get in touch of how much potential reality has.
