Review of Arrival (2016) by Jeff B — 19 Jul 2017
I really thought I'd like this movie. I like cerebral movies, but this to me was just poorly done. I found Amy Adams to be neither credible nor engaging. The alien visuals were laughable. The military attitude was a perfect cliche with no nuance.
Most of all, the movie was irredeemably boring, while the payoff of discovering the time-bending conclusion was unbelievable and weak. Very disappointing!
