Review of Arrival (2016) by Drlisa A — 29 Nov 2017
Evocative: The value of this movie is many fold. First, throughout the movie,I wanted to try my methods to communicate with them: singing to them, dancing artfully in a qi gong dance improv mindfully connecting to them sort of way, play, show people hugging, showing 12 peoplesitting on floor (like the 12 pods) holding hands, smiling, laugher, crying, reaching to Abbot and Costello with open hands, with namaste honored hands.
..and that was inspiring after the movie was over. Next, it was fascnating that she was chosen; her life and her powers and gifts to connect with them and they with her. And it evokes the dimensions of time, the meaning of events, trust, intuition, levels of collaboration, interconnectness, etc Anyone who says this is boring, is IMO, not-intelligent and daft.
It is not an action movie. It isa thoughtful inspiring poetic vision of sorts. It would be good to show in classrooms and have discussions following. Lovely.
