Review of Arrival (2016) by Denislav U — 23 Feb 2017
Arrival is a pseudo intellectual movie that one can only guess as to what it's doing as nominee for an Oscar. It makes next to zero sence on pretty much every level. How did it get such a critical acclaim is beyond me.
The story is centered around an imbecilic and cliched paradox that I guess One is not suppose to think about in a movie that is said to be thought provoking(What genius subversion that would be, right?).
Of course every goverment and character other than the main protagonist are portrayed like bunch of imbeciles who cannot reason for the life of them. It's main conflict is fatalism I suppose, but it was barely touched upon, because why explore I compeling problem when you can spout pseudo intellectual nonsense and get an Oscar nomination.
Critically acclaimed they said, ha ha ha. The whole thing is just a wasted premise, potential and time.
