Review of Around the World in 80 Days (2004) by Jordan C — 22 Oct 2009
Nothing to challenge the brain too much in this corny yet likable romp through several locations and some unobtrusive CGI. Its a retro couple of hours with Chan supplying the slapstick-fu and Broadbent twirling his villainous moustache to almost audible boos.
Coogan's stint as an old skool inventor further consolidates its vaudevillian tendencies without pushing it into whimsy or farce although the dialogue could have been a bit perkier and the trip itself 10 days shorter.
