Review of Around the World in 80 Days (2004) by Gabe H — 24 Jun 2010
Great family fun never takes itself too seriously but lavish in detail as we'd expect of Disney. Great comedic performance by supporting actor Jim Broadbent (the professor in the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe) and cameos by Owen Wilson, Rob Schneider, Kathy Bates, John Cleese, Samo Hung, Arnold the Governator, et al.
The unsurpassed creativity of the martial arts choreography is worth watching, even if you've had your funny bone removed. Adults and kids alike will get the historical jokes. One of our family's all-time favorites for lighthearted fun.
Extra: if you understand Chinese, listen for an extra laugh in the pillory scene that is not subtitled.
