Review of Army of Thieves (2021) by Cainezen — 01 Nov 2021

I thoroughly enjoyed this film. I've watched it six times already. I really enjoyed the choice to have a "nerd" character in the lead role for a change. I absolutely love Matthias' way of playing an every-man character.

While I can tell some of the plot was simplified to make it move faster and it's still just a basic heist movie, I love the characters and I love getting more of the back-story on Dieter. I actually enjoyed this movie more than Army of the Dead.

I thought the slow pacing of that film just drug the story out way too long. They could have done a bit more on the safes and made them more of a challenge on the safe-cracking. Other than the suspense of getting caught, the actual cracking of the safes was not that difficult.

There could have been some tricks or some parts of the story that he forgets along the way, that made it more complicated.
