Review of Army of One (2016) by Jak-Luke S — 23 Jul 2017
Cage is like lightning in bottle he's over eccentric, rude loud and relishing a role he can utilise with both comedy and drama. McLendon-Covey is also rather good in her role that hasn't got a great deal of depth but does add a great dynamic to Cage and she's great with humour as usual.
The structure of the film is repetitive and a little frustrating, it bats back and forth throughout never actually going anywhere aside from going in circles. The humour is far more physical and slapstick than what I had thought and really worked well but the film doesn't have any idea what it wants to do and just falls a little flat, ultimately naively offending and minimising mental illness.
