Review of Army of Darkness (1992) by Ross P — 21 Nov 2012
Fans of Sam Raimi's horror/comedy trilogy will no doubt find this conclusion of Ash's battle against the "evil dead" a fast-paced adventure set in medieval times, but it's not for everyone.
Raimi and his leading man (Bruce Campbell) seem to have had a little too much fun with this one. Heavy on slapstick humor and surprisingly low on gore that made the previous films horror classics, many will end up feeling Raimi should have left Ash in the 1300s to whatever end, which wouldn't have been a terrible way to wrap up the franchise.
A fun, but ultimately disappointing final chapter to "The Evil Dead" legacy.
