Review of Army of Darkness (1992) by Baurushan J — 19 Aug 2013
The story is about Ash played once again by Bruce Campbell who travels back in time into the 14th century medieval era. Surrounded by medieval knights and Necronomicon-possessed demons, the brutally competent Ash who is armed with only a shotgun, a high school chemistry textbook and a chainsaw turns the army to his side in order to fight the Necronomicons, destroy the book that holds the curses and get back home to present day.
With plenty of tongue-in-cheek action, gory comedy and sword-and-sorcery style horror, Sam Raimi's direction along with Bruce Campbell as the lead actor steal the front cover. The Evil Dead (1981) was a modern B-movie classic.
Evil Dead 2: Dead By Dawn was a semi-sequel to the first film. Finally this film concludes the trilogy into a tight knot (and yes we did get Drag Me To Hell which was essentially Evil Dead 4). Army of Darkness gets a 9.
