Groovy, Army of Darkness is like a fantasy and knights tale with a taste of 21st Century. I laughed hard at a couple of scenes where the men in the castle are shocked and horrified by Ash's technology.
Army of Darkness is great movie for me since I had a lot of fun watching it. The strength is the corny and campiness which is also some of its weak point. This is the third film of the Evil Dead saga as our ironic hero Ash (Bruce Campbell) finds himself back in time when kings and queens ruled the world.
Ash is prophesied as some sort of savior. He must retrieve the necronimicon from the deadites. Yet, Ash does not possess the archetype heroic traits. He's a jerk and usually insulting anyone around him which may turn off some people.
Bruce Campbell vs. the Army of Darkness is loaded with some great special effects, slapstick humor, and directing. Army of Darkness is a whole lotta fun even if it's disappointing sequel to Evil Dead 2- Dead by Dawn.
Wow, I love Blu-Ray.
