Review of Armored (2009) by Bob M — 25 Apr 2010
Armor is basically what you need to wrap around your intelligence should you watch this movie. With a batch of fairly decent actors (Matt Dillon, Laurence Fishburne, Jean Reno) who must have really needed the money, you'd have thought this might be better than it was. Nope.
Since there was minimal character development and less story development, we are simply led to believe that several employees of a security firm would simply opt one day to steal the contents of two armored vehicles. Well, the plan which is never fully explained falls apart when a homeless person spots them tring to unload the trucks. Laurence Fishburne then shoots the guy. Laurence, didn't you learn anything on CSI? Bad move. It gets worse from there. The ending is predictable and the suspense minimal.
While I did not expect moviemaking like The Godfather of this crime thriller, I was hoping to be entertained. So, I was a bit, to the tune of about 40% - still rotten but not unwatchable. However, I would love to know who the hiring manager was for this security company when almost their entire amored truck force would just up one day and try and take all the money. Maybe they should not have cancelled that healthcare plan......
