Review of Armored (2009) by Emily A — 27 Jul 2010
A decent set up ruined by what turns out to be a ridiculous, poorly executed heist for 42,000,000! As if you wouldnt plan something like that properly!
Initially there are hints at previous heists using their method, ie security guards rob their own money, and some 'bonding' over a drink in a bar establishes the characters, so by the time the heist kicks in after about 30 mins of the film there is some interest in what happens next...then it just falls apart.....
The day of the heist they cant look their boss in the eyes, and act shiftily around the bank officials they collect from, they may as well have an illuminated sign saying 'we are stealing this money'.
The plan involves stashing all the cash in an 'abandoned' steelworks, but you morons, it isnt abandoned, why did nobody check that?!
Then the 'good guy' of the bunch hides in the security truck, the 'bad guys' want him out and the rest of the money also in it....so they spend 40 minutes trying to hammer out the steel re-inforced hinges on the doors, while the good guy nips in and out through a metal plate at the bottom of the truck! So stupid its insulting.
Really, the second they had a witness they should of taken what they could and legged it, instead they stick around, shooting cops, killing each other, and kidnapping relatives for completely no point. They get themsleves into a situation they cant escape from, and make it worse and worse for no reason whatsoever.
Very dumb film for very dumb people.
