Review of Armored (2009) by Liz K — 03 Oct 2010
Don't believe everything you read. Armored is a decent B- movie. Its not going to win any awards -(and didnt for that matter), but its perfect for a cold night with nothing to do and nothing on tv. The story is somewhat ridiculous and yes, its fairly predictable. But I couldnt help enjoy the fact that it didnt take the whole "heist" thing too seriously and neither should you. I love heist movies, so thats what attracted me to this one - and i'll assure you, there are far better heist movies out there, but if you check your brain at the door and any type of common sense, this is alright.
Its rated PG-13 - so dont expect too much in the form of violence and curse words - although there is one dropping of the F-bomb. Its clear the top notch actors involved here were looking for a paycheck....and nothing more.
As a viewer, all you need to expect is some light entertainment with a dash of action and whole lot of clumsiness.
If you paid money at the theater to see this, i'm sorry. If you paid money for a rental -- well -- I guess you should have picked something different. If you caught on one of the pay-movie cable channels, good call, thats what I did.
I cant believe I'm saying this , but I actually liked this -- probably more than I should.
