Armageddon is a very great, well-acted, emotional sciencefiction disaster thriller. Of course, there are really much unrealistic things in this movie, but that's exactly what makes this movie interesting and entertaining. Indeed, there exist asteroids beyond the main asteroid belt which are the size of Texas, called Trans-Neptunian objects or Trojans, but it is very unlikely that such a one will heading towards the Earth. It is not specifically said in the movie, but personally I guess the character Dan Truman means that the asteroid has a surface the size of Texas, which meant it is about 290 miles in average width. Furthermore, the characters are reasonabky well introduced and well played. You see that Bruce Willis and Ben Affleck play a sort of father-son relation, especially at the end, and that's one of the most emotional scenes.

Shortly, a interesting disaster movie, which ends good and which is well done.

From a scale of 1 to 10, I give it an 8.
