Review of Armageddon (1998) by Iowa B — 12 Jul 2015
Armageddon is not a disaster movie, it is a disaster of a movie.
Seen this one about 15 years or so. I don't remember much about the characters or the story, but I remember how dull, stupid and forced it was.
Yes, it looked nice, as in popcorn-nice, but obviously it was not enough to save this turd from what is.
However, if you are into action flicks packed with explosions and you want a good laugh along the way, this might just work for you. Or not.
Now, Michael Bay is not a particularly bright director, but he is not the worst either, but he directed two of the worst movies of the past 2 decades(at least): "Pearl Harbor" and this one.
"Armageddon " is actually a slightly better than "Pearl Harbor", because, on one hand, it is one hour shorter, on the other hand, it is a bit more bearable and, while silly, it isn't nightmarishly stupid.
Therefore, I give this one 1 out of 5.
