Review of Armageddon (1997) by Cam J — 01 Oct 2013
Armageddon fails to meet expectations. Bruce Willis, Ben Affleck, and Steve Buscemi provide the flick with great acting potential, but it's lost in an overblown, self-congratulatory intergalactic adaptation of Con Air.
The film is loud, hurts the eyes, and lacks serious character development. While most movie goers are willing to suspend their expectations for a realistic film, the movie is so unbelievable that it's insulting.
Bay seems to think explosions will cover the poor screenplay, but he's wrong. Rent it only because so many people think it's so great, but don't buy it because you'll be sorely disappointed.
