Review of Arizona Sky (2008) by Roxanne R — 03 Jun 2011
Good, low budget film which deals about lost loves..Despite their strong feelings for each other, two teenage best friends played by Eric Dean and Jayme McCabe hide their real emotions growing up in Arizona.
One of them (Jake) decides to leave the small town and head for Hollywood to make movies. Nearly 20 years go by, and now in their mid 30's, Jake is a stressed out movie producer in Los Angeles, while Kyle remained in the small town caring for his ailing mother, never having the chance to go to college and make a life for himself but deep down he still felt different from the other guys.
After suffering an awful panic attack (oh yes I can relate to that), Jake is determined to return to Arizona and reconnect with his first love Kyle. Upon their reunion, both realize that they still care and love for each other very much! Folks I shed some tears on this one especially the part when Kyle tells Jake that he cannot offer much because he is just a simple, down to earth mechanic and cowboy and he feels so inferior to Jake.
...but then Jake realizes that Hollywood is not the magical and beautiful place everyone raves about and it goes from there...Lovely story, very simple, nothing fancy yet the message is loud and clear! Good job for the director (Jeff London) and cast of this movie that teaches us that not everything that glitters is gold and sometimes LOVE does offer a second chance! Recommended!!
