Review of Argo (2012) by Jgzeger — 26 Jan 2013
I would have liked this movie a lot better if it weren't so fast and loose with the facts. For starters, the ending is complete Hollywood b.s. In real life the hostages didn't have any trouble boarding their flight and there was no chase down the tarmac.
But hey, the change made for a more suspenseful ending which. let's face it, sells more tickets. Most offensive, though, was the lack of credit the film gives the Canadians for the role they played in getting the American hostages free.
Leave it to the Americans to beat their chests and take all the credit for themselves while portraying the Canadians are mere "innkeepers".
