This film really deserved the Oscar for best (Hollywood)film, although other choices would haven been great too: The Master, Zero Dark Thirty or Lincoln e.g.
Ben Affleck is only average as an actor, but he makes a great director. In spite of his ubiquity on screen and the patriotism that is sometimes shown, the film makes for a great thriller with some nice performances.
