Review of Argo (2012) by Del H — 24 Oct 2013
Telling the story of six hostages caught in the midst of the Iranian Revolution and the CIA agent who launches perhaps the most convoluted (but brilliant) rescue plans in American history, director Affleck is able to create an edge of your seat thriller while giving the audience a barbed portrait of both Revolutionary Iran and the politics of Hollywood (comically portrayed by Alan Arkin and John Goodman).
While not as touching as it probably could have been, the film stamps Affleck's strength as a bona fide director.
