Although the final piece of action at the end seems a tad unnecessary, this is such solid filmmaking that you start to wonder if Affleck's name will one day be on par with that of Ridley Scott's.

Yes, I WOULD definitely go that far. With well-crafted suspense and drama, "Argo" not only has a great story to tell, but it boasts a well-written cast of characters that really keep the stakes high and momentum going up until the very end.
