Review of Argo (2012) by Samuel B — 19 Dec 2015

130322: I didn't enjoy the first hour of this movie. I found it slow and cared less about the characters. After that it was much more exciting. I'd even call it nerve-racking near the end. There is something, however, that makes it hard for me to think of this as the movie of the year.

Perhaps it's because I was biased towards Django. I enjoyed Affleck in some ways but I also found him robotic and unconvincing. He lacked passion. This film, being based upon a true story, seems so close to reality it came across as unoriginal.

And, even with all the excitement near the end, I found I still cared less about the characters. Still giving it four stars though.
