Review of Argo (2012) by Dan P — 11 Aug 2014
I don't understand all the hype for this movie; after seeing Lincoln, I agree that shouldn't have gotten Best Picture, but I was surprised this did instead, too. It seems a little far fetched with all the lucky turn of events, but does carry you to the end with a sense of deliverance from the evil villain we all try to avoid in lifeâ?¦and few are able to win against his forces.
Perhaps this is the strong compelling force that made it a favorite. Even the interviews of the actual people who were in the event 30 years ago display a sense of amazement of the outcome, still, making the story such an unbelievable series of events that makes for a plot that is the best part about the movie in a patriotic enlightened story of our nation's history.
Americans, God, moral souls, and Yankee ingenuity win one for the home team against the corrupt wicked minds of the evil Dictator and his repressive Army harming a nation that is in poverty and chaos while the Government Officilas carry on a lavish life of luxury, while their constituents struggle to make ends meet.
