I thought that this movie hit a sweet spot. While there were moments where I thought that Are You Here couldn't decide if it wanted to be a comedy or a drama, I have reached the conclusion that the desired effect is to be realistic.

Funny things happen in life, even in the midst of real crisis, and real crises happen even to funny people. I thought that the writing was great, and I hate most movies' writing. If you like movies that make you think, then I would highly recommend this.

If you want to watch the guy from The Hangover get blacked out and have to piece together the party from the night before, this one might not be for you.
