Review of Arctic Blue (1993) by Andrew D — 10 Dec 2007
Rutger Hauer plays a deranged trapper who is caught by environmentalist, played by Dylan Walsh. Refusing to go to prison, he does whatever he can to avoid being transported including crashing a plane, in which much of the movie is about their survival in the Arctic and their journey back home.
It is then when Hauer's character develops into something worthwhile, while the viewer spends most of the movie determining how they feel about him. Is he doing it just to find a way out, or is it redemption? Decent film that carries well throughout.
