Review of Arbitrage (2012) by Trevor C — 09 Oct 2012
Intriguing plot and excellent performance from Richard Gere as mega rich Robert Miller, who is involved in a Teddy Kenedy style crash, without the water, whilst driving his French mistress for a naughty weekend away together.
The car flips many times and Gere survives but his girlfriend is killed. He forces his was out of the car and as he is walking away the car explodes. He then tries to pretend he was not there and cover the whole incident up.
The plot is fascinating as the crash was not murder but an accident and not really Miller's fault. The attempted cover up though was not exactly right but Miller has his reasons and says a number of times that "a lot of people rely on me".
I liked it and the ending was good too !
