Review of Arbitrage (2012) by M W — 24 Jan 2013
Actually a pretty cool movie. Like a Wall street version of head Hunters. Only things I didn't enjoy were miller's family members. Susan serrandon looked awful. Their daughter Brooke was kind of weak and their son was only there for about 2 seconds.
I don't understand why they kept referencing him. The biggest thing to talk about, besides Tim Roth's terrible accent is the ending. Did he sign the paper or didn't he? I'm okay with the ambiguity.
The movie was starting to feel like it was running a little long. I think it ended at a good time. Like no country for old men and inception sometimes it's a stronger way to finish a movie if the ending is a question.
The period on the sentence is a discussion you are going to have with your friends later that night. The ending isn't that his wife leaves him, or that he goes to jail or loses his company. It's that feeling of dilemma.
The horribleness has finally come to a head, a problem he can't solve with money. That is the ending.
