A tense and morally grey thriller centering on a millionaire CEO who represents everything that these times have taught us to loathe about the 1%'s as it were. A manipulative, power hungry, fraudulent, little man who plays like he has the entire world in the palm of his hand.

He lies to his daughter, cheats on his wife, accidentally kills his girlfriend, is effectively going to steal millions of dollars, and in the end youre hoping he gets away with it, over the morally grey cop who is trying to catch him.

Part of it is due to Gere who is affable and capable in the role. Tense and the smartest guy in the room, he's surrounded by a sterling cast who only props him up higher. Tim Roth might be a bit hammy as the cop, but he makes you like Gere more.

You're pulling for someone who deserves to go to jail. And he gets away with it. And youre happy about it. The power of movies...
