Review of Arbitrage (2012) by Sarfaraz A — 05 Oct 2012
Arbitrage directed by Nicholas Jarecki. Starring Richard Gere, Susan Sarandon, Tim Roth,.
Richard Gere is Robert Miller is a rich billionaire who maintains his mistress named Julie (Laetitia Casta). He has a wife (Susan Sarandon), who knows exactly how he roams around the world. One night Miller drives his mistress and crashes after dozing off, resulting in death of his mistress; realizing the gravity of incident on his both personal and social life, he walks away from the car and, later picked up by his most trusted chauffeur's son. Detective Bryer (Tim Roth) is optimistic about murderer and plays all cards to break his close ones.
I was surprised to know work of young 33-year old director of the film 'Nicholas Jarecki' giving us this blasting film, that truly depicts devilish games played by corporates; his research on the elite society is worth praising. Richard Gere embodies businessmen's habitual living-standards and. With twist-ending this film declares the bitter truth to be finally accepted by all individuals whether in West of East.
NOTE: A final betting scene demonstrates the blunder of World economy in 2008, especially in the US, who are (unfortunately) still working on major level.
