A showcase in character development, mood and suspense. Arbitrage, with its atmospheric New York backdrop explores the mind of a man at the peak of the financial world. His money is abundant but his morals are non-existent. Richard Gere drives the film, he is a liar, a fraud and a manipulator but we relate to him. However wretched his actions, it's impossible to resist supporting him. We want him to get away with the crime.
Arbitrage is incredibly well written, sophisticated and smart. Only Richard Gere can make us like a man full of pride who's willing to do anything to save himself.
