Review of Arachnophobia (1990) by Kevin H — 20 Apr 2009
Arachnophobia is an excellent throwback to the disaster films of the 1970's and also an extremely funny (sometimes unintentionally) film. Jeff Daniels turns in a good performance as the man that nobody believes when he says the town is in danger.
In fact the town is in danger as it is being menaced by some particularly nasty spiders whose bite can kill in seconds. John Goodman steals the show as an exterminator and the spiders themselves come across quite funny at times.
Worth a watch simply for Jimmy Buffett's awesome "Don't Bug Me" song during the closing credits.
