Review of Arachnophobia (1990) by Anthony M — 13 Nov 2011
Arachnophobia is an entertaining film that is unlikely to actually scare you, unless you actually have arachnophobia. The film is played more as a thriller-comedy than an actual horror movie. The plot is somewhat far fetched, but then again most movies of this type are.
The cast all does a good job with their characters. The spider visual effects are cheesy by today's standards, but on par with the time period. Nothing about the film will blow you away, but it is an entertaining thrill ride.
And John Goodman is hilarious as the exterminator, Delbert. Recommended for those who enjoy more mainstream 'horror' movies that are not exactly scary. Unless you're scared of spiders to begin with.
