Review of Aquaman (2018) by Gunnar René Ø — 05 Jan 2019
The plot of this movie may feel like a re-hash of archetypal plots from The Lion King and Black Panther, with some political intrigue and an archeological quest thrown in, reminiscent of Indiana Jones or Drake's Adventure. But it is so well executed that it really works.
Temuera Morrison and Nicole Kidman's and performances deserve a special mention here I think, because it actually brought med to tears. I can't remember crying in a movie theatre since The Return of the King.
The introduction of Black Mantha was pretty good, but him announcing his name was the low point of this movie.
All in all, a fairly well executed hero's journey.
