Aquaman: Amazingly talented actors, mythic, beautiful and colorful new worlds, and epic ocean battles.

Aquaman was a step in the right direction for the DCEU. James Wan is a hero to the DCEU. It was so new and spectacular, plus it followed the comics. Aquaman was epic because it immersed you in a world never seen before on the big screen, Wan has created an amazing world that breaths hope into the DC Universe. Was the movie cheesy at some points, yes, but every superhero movie is like that. Aquaman was able to roll with it and deliver an awesome film. Much like Wonder Woman, Aquaman proves without doubt that there can be a strong, depth filled story, as well as a lightheartedness within a DCEU film.

The characters are solid and unforgettable, and not just the ï¿ 1/2 1/2good guysï¿ 1/2 1/2ï¿ 1/2Â?. Momoa presents a fun, charismatic personality to Aquaman, something his comic counterpart as well as a JL members lack. Proving his talent as an actor that can deliver. You felt for Arthur and understood why he is the way he is toward his life.

Another good performance is Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, he delivers the villainous Black Manta, one of Aquamanï¿ 1/2 1/2(TM)s oldest foes, giving him a dimension that was smoothly and beautifully inserted in such a short submarine scene. The film describes Mantas hatred for Aquaman and makes it understandable if not justified. At some points you even want to root for the character.

Now, Aquamanï¿ 1/2 1/2(TM)s half-brother, Orm, played by the extraordinarily talented Patrick Wilson, was a character in desperate need of a believable motivation story, and that story is amazingly presented here. Some people may disagree with his methods, but he does have a good point about the ï¿ 1/2 1/2surface peopleï¿ 1/2 1/2ï¿ 1/2Â? destroying the oceans, and you understand his motivation to preserving his kingdom and people. I donï¿ 1/2 1/2(TM)t believe there was one character I ï¿ 1/2 1/2dislikedï¿ 1/2 1/2ï¿ 1/2Â? in the movie. I believed all of their motivations and it was fantastic.

The women in Aquaman hold their own and I love how Wan presented them as strong, independent warriors that arenï¿ 1/2 1/2(TM)t just the damsel, or pretty face. It was awesome to see Nicole Kidman, and Amber Heard kick butt on the screen.

The film sequences were breathtaking, and so beautiful. The action scenes were next level and I think four of my favorite scenes were one, seeing Atlantis for the first time, the ï¿ 1/2 1/2Ring of Fireï¿ 1/2 1/2ï¿ 1/2Â?, when Arthur and Mera dive the Trench, and obviously the final ocean battle. Overall Aquaman was an amazing spectacle of story-telling and visuals. Plus, with that mid-credit scene, I am excited to see what a sequel might bring to the horizon.
