Review of Aquaman (2018) by Woziak99 — 23 Dec 2018
Aquaman is a total blast, a full on melodramatic visual spectacle about a reluctant hero born of two worlds who is shunned by his Atlantean heritage due to his Mother, Atlanta, wonderful played by Nicole Kidman falling in love with a surface dweller, Arthur played Temeura Morrison.
The story is a simple story about family and love, the action is frantic and some of the dialogue cheesy but who cares when your having this much fun. Jason Momoah knocks it out of the park and Amber Heard is suprisingly good as his partner in saving the world, their chemistry is just one of the two beautiful love stories wonderfully interwoven in this epic fantasy superhero adventure.
The villain Orm, played by Patrick Wilson is cheese personified, but his message is not. Orm wants to attack the surface world for pollutating the oceans and destroyong the sealife. The tonal shift is so subtle, that one minute your laughing and the next you have a tear in your eye, that's what makes this film so beautiful, it has so many messages and the more you watch the film, the more you will fall in love with it.
Go see this movie in Imax 3d to fully appreciate the wonder of Atlantis and please Warner Brothers, hire James Wan to make Aquaman 2 because watching this film in Imax 3d is so exhillerating that I and many more fans will become addicted to Wan's thrilling style of action adventure movies.
