Review of Aquaman (2018) by Patrick C — 01 Jan 2019
The movie's narrative thread did not become so entangled that I lost sight of where the movie was headed. Some stories in the genre become so convoluted that I get lost in all the action, not so with Aquaman. There were weaknesses in the character's credibility, like the fact that he could push a multi-ton submarine up to the surface, but could not escape the chains his nemesis bound him with. Plenty of bang (CGI) for the buck and the colors in the film were very relaxing. I had had a very bad two day of stress with my ill daughter and I came out of Aquaman feeling unburdened and relaxed, my mind free of the worries of my life. 3 stars!
